Living as the assistant keeper at the Puffin Point lighthouse for four years, Leonard Tarby admires everything about his coastal home: sweeping ocean seascapes, lush, tangled forests, and unobstructed views of the stars he enjoys charting. There was only one thing Leonard would change, and that is the absence of a loving bride by his side. Certain the only way to achieve that goal is to send for a bride through the mail, Leonard sits back to wait for her arrival, dreaming of a life of wedded bliss soon to come. The young lady is soon on her way to Puffin Point but goes missing en route. Is there foul play involved or did she simply get cold feet? Will Leonard ever have a bride of his own? Find out in this sweet historical romance full of dangers, intrigue, and love, all beneath the ever-watchful beam of a Pacific lighthouse.

Mr. L. Tarby,
I’m writing in regards to your personal advertisement in Matrimony, Inc. Though brief, I could sense a pleasant countenance about you. Your lighthouse home sounds wonderful, and as I currently live on the shores of Connecticut, I feel I am adequately prepared to continue to live on the coast. I confess to wondering whether the Pacific is so very different than the Atlantic, and should we proceed toward matrimony, perhaps I’ll be granted the chance to find out. Oregon is such a great distance from Connecticut, and I feel inclined to make the journey by ship rather than over land.
I am twenty-six years of age, the youngest of three siblings, though I can no longer claim familial attachment in my home town. I do possess basic cooking and housekeeping skills and a modest financial sum which I will bring to the marriage.
If you feel we may suit, please reply promptly so that we might begin arrangements.
