Coffee or Tea, & Follow Me: “A Rock Bottom Solid Foundation”

CoffeOrTeaWhat’s in your cup this morning?  I start off with coffee and a splash of milk, then move on to black coffee.  Later in the day, especially if it’s a crazy one, I might have a Café Moche with double-shot of Crème de Mint (iced in the summer).  With whipped cream on top, of course.

Today’s post is my first one on this newly renovated blog.  ‘Coffee or Tea, & Follow Me’ will be a regular Sunday post.  I’ve found it’s not necessary to agree with someone on everything in order to glean wisdom from their life experiences, or to be their friend.  😉  Please be kind and encouraging to each other.

Sunday Inspirational Quote:   “I was set free, because my greatest fear had already been realized, and I was still alive, and I still had a daughter whom I adored, and I had an old typewriter and a big idea. And so rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.”  – J.K. Rowling

My thoughts:

I’ve found most grown-ups have a hard time learning or doing anything new because they’re afraid of failure and humiliation.  They’ve been so wounded in the past that their energy is spent on promoting and protecting what they already have.  One of the advantages of having your ego destroyed by the harsh realities of life is it no longer gets in the way of trying and learning.

There is always hard work and sacrifice involved with Living Happily Ever After.  Always.

I recommend the J.K. Rowling interview ‘Year in the Life’ which came out with the release of Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 movie.  If you don’t already own it, you can check it out at your local library or Search for the interview on YouTube.  She was not an overnight success!

Where have you found the inspiration to charge forth into life’s greatest challenges?  Is there something you always wanted to do, but we’re afraid to try?  I always wanted to be a mommy and an author.  And I am!  But, it sure as heck has not been easy.  Well, I’m no J.K. Rowling.  But, I am okay with that. 😉

Make the thrill of discovery more important to you than the agony of defeat.

This is my mommy when she was 19 years old.  She loved coffee too.  She’s in Heaven now.  I miss her.
